Scots perform well at Houffalize World Cup

Of the Five Scottish Riders selected to ride for Great Britain at the Houffalize World Cup each of them came away with solid results and took forward the experience to help them develop as bike riders in the future.

On what can only be described as a "brutal" course Lee Craigie posted a solid 70th place in the strong Elite Women's field. Highlanders Tom Evans and Iain Paton, both in there first world cup moved up well from their start positions to finish 52nd and 68th respectively and in a field of 140 starters this is no mean feat!

The best rides of the weekend though came from Grant Ferguson and Kenta Gallagher in the under 23 men. Kenta who had a fine 6th place in the Elite Eliminator race the previous evening battled well to finish 27th but it was Grant Ferguson rise from 96th on the start line to 20th by the end of the race that proved cause for celebration. Posting the 7th fastest last lap of the race shows that Grants form is now starting build as the season goes on.
