How do we best return to youth club cycling activity? Join our panel of experienced Coaches, MTB Leaders, SC Staff and WPOs, to gain insights and perspectives on returning to club activity in a safe way whilst having a focus on the riders, volunteers and Parents/Guardians
This session will also provide an opportunity to discuss this topic with fellow Club Coaches, MTB Leaders, WPO’s and committee members via zoom breakout rooms.
The session will take place on Wednesday 24th March at 7-8.15pm
We realise that returning to coaching activity will be a testing time for all of those involved: organisers, coaches and the riders. The aim of this session is to present different perspectives of returning to activity, and some solutions to smooth the process. During this we will also gather feedback as to any further topics that members would like to cover in future.
For around 50 minutes, a panel consisting of: Scottish Cycling Staff; Coaches and Mountain Bike Leaders; Club Wellbeing and Protection Officers; and parents, will discuss their perspective of restarting activity and some factors that they have been considering. After this, we will split into ‘break out rooms’ for 15 mins, where groups of 4-6 attendees will discuss the challenges that they face in returning to activity.
We're grateful to the following individuals who have agreed to be a part of the panel:
- Paul Jones, Glasgow Go-Ride and Clydesdale Colts Coach
- Lesley Archibald, Wellbeing and Protection Officer at Falkirk Junior Bike Club
- David Ogilvie, Coach/MTB Leader + tutor from West Lothian Clarion Cycling Club
- Rachael Halifax, Coach/Secretary at Glasgow Riderz
