UCI Track Cycling World Championships 2020

Berlin   | 26th February - 1st March

The UCI Track Cycling World Championships was held in Berlin over the weekend and was a spectacular display of strength from the world top track cyclists. On day one of the Championships, Paisley boy Jack Carlin was part of the team sprint trio who got the Great Britain Cycling team off to a flying start scoring a silver medal. The trio set a personal best time of 42.471 to qualify in second place – a time which they beat again in the first round, clocking 42.294. They were beaten in the final by the Dutch team who have dominated the event all season, and it was no different in Berlin.

The women's team pursuit squad featuring Katie Archibald and Neah Evans went into the gold medal ride against the USA in a strong position. The team clocked a time  of 4:13.129 but it was the USA, who had set the fastest times throughout the competition, that were victorious in a time of 4:11.235

In the men’s keirin, Jack Carlin finished in fourth place having seamlessly made it into the finals. Neah Evans paired with Welsh talent Eleanor Barker for the madison. Despite having a difficult race the pair took sixth.
