Scottish National Junior Men's & Women's Road Race Championship

This weekend will see our junior riders battle it out on the famous Lathalmond circuit. The Junior Men’s race is traditionally held within a 3/4 category men’s race and is a longstanding event, with the Jack Murray Trophy being awarded to the highest place Junior rider in the field.  This is the second edition of the Eileen Roe Shield and will for the first time, incorporate the Junior Women’s National Championship.  This is the very first time these Championships will be contested on the same day, under the organisation of one club. This year the event will be organised by Adrian Hay, representing and supported by a strong organising committee from Dunfermline CC.

Alba Series Road Race Round 1

The Drummond Trophy

Sunday 14th April 2019

Strathaven

Organised by the Glenmarnock Wheelers, the Drummond Trophy is one of Scotland's major annual road races and has been running for over 50 years. This race kicks of the Alba Road Series which will see Scotlands best road racers tackle tough courses to gain points towards becoming series champion.

The race starts at 11am and will cover 85 miles around Strathaven.

2018 Youth Tour of Scotland winner Alfie George will be riding the Junior Men's Paris Boubaix for Great Britain Cycling Team.

Junior Men’s Road Race Series Round 1

Bristol

A full team of Scottish Cycling Programme riders will race the first in the Junior Men's Road Race Series, as well as a team of Scottish riders from Spokes Race Team.

HSBC UK British National Cross Country Series Round 2

This weekend sees the 2019 HSBC UK | National Cross-Country Series return to the scene of the London 2012 Olympic race – Essex’s Hadleigh Park. Competitors ranging from under-14 to 60+ will compete in 22 categories.Grant Ferguson and Joanne Thom will race in the Elites, while Round 1 winner Charlie Aldridge of Stirling Bike Club will be looking to make it two out of two in the Junior Men's race. Anna McGorum looks set to conintue her run of good form in the Junior Women's race but faces tough competition/

There is a strong Scottish contingent racing the U-14 Juvenile and U-16 Youths, many of whom were racing on the roads of Perthshire at the Youth Tour of Scotland last weekend.

Scottish riders also feature on the start list for Round 3 and 4 of the BMX British Series in Kent and Round 1 of the Men's and Women's Elite British Road Race Series in East Cleveland.
