It was a snowy start in Stirling, but fortunately many intrepid and dedicated Event Organisers and Commissaires made the journey from far and wide to participate in the conference.

Informative and interactive workshops were delivered by specialist providers Active Advantage running a Collaboration session, Nigel and Neil focusing on Incident Management and Online Systems and Mark Young putting his timing and results experience to use in delivering a workshop on the Interdependent Relationships of the event family.

After a well-earned lunch the afternoon began with various discipline specific sessions, with some of our Commissaires and Event Organisers using their experience to deliver informative and interactive workshops.  This allowed for some specific focus and discussion on key areas across Cyclo-Cross, Mountain Bike, Track, BMX, Road & Time Trial and Event Organisation.

The final part of the day saw Bob Macfarlane review his experience of being the Cycling Competition Manager at the European Championships and share his experience and learnings from such detailed organisation and planning.  Bob then hosted the ‘Ask the Panel’ segment which included multi discipline rider Amanda Tweedie, Event Organisers Scott Kerr and Eric Davidson and Commissaire Helen Probart who officiates on multiple disciplines.  This was a fun, thought provoking and interactive end to the day, with a variety of subjects discussed from a  range of perspectives.

Following the conference, two delegates said, "The conference was really useful. We both felt that the sessions were just the right length - in every case we were left wanting just a little more but not over whelmed with information." – Treasurer of Cairngorms Cycling Club and Event Organiser
