Early-bird tickets are now available for the Scottish Mountain Bike Conference to be held in Aviemore, in the Cairngorms National Park, on 22nd to 24th November 2018.

Titled ‘Future Proofing The Trail Ahead’, the 3 day conference will focus on the key issues and opportunities which face the mountain bike sector in Scotland, Europe and globally.  A fantastic line up of speakers and workshops will help mountain biking navigate a successful future by helping us prepare and plan effectively.

The conference will debate the future of Scottish mountain biking and will feed into the Scottish MTB National Strategic Framework 2019 – 2025, looking at how we create a sustainable future for mountain biking support in Scotland.

The opening day (22nd November) will focus on planning for the future for those involved in mountain biking tourism, product development and the sustainable economic growth of the sport.

We have organised an exciting line up of speakers from industry leaders to academics and sector experts who will be presenting and discussing macro challenges and opportunities which are being played out on a global scale. We will also discuss the rise of e-bikes and understand how Scotland and the UK can learn from the rapid e-bike growth across Europe.  The first day will close with an evening of traditional Scottish ceilidh dancing, local craft beer and a delicious ‘Taste of Scotland’ dinner.

The second day (23rd November) will focus on how we sustainably grow participation in mountain biking and continue to develop a world class athlete development system. A full programme of inspirational speakers and informative workshops will be delivered during the day and the day will close with the much anticipated Scottish MTB Awards. A chance for us all to celebrate the very best of Scottish mountain biking.

The last day of the conference (24th November) will offer delegates and volunteers the opportunity to attend a variety of trail building case studies to view good practice and discuss how we can build the right trails, in the right places and managed by the right people.

The conference will also showcase and discuss the contribution of mountain biking in Scotland to social and environmental objectives and sustainable economic development. Highlighting to an international audience, the excellent mountain biking which exists in both the Highlands and across Scotland.

Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland (DMBinS) will be the lead organiser of the event. Using their experience of delivering award winning international conferences, DMBinS will be in working partnership with Cairngorms National Park Authority, Scottish Government, Scottish Cycling, Highlands & Islands Enterprise and the Cairngorms Business Partnership to deliver an exceptional conference.
