Scottish Cycling National Youth and Junior Track Championships
Friday 29th June - Sunday 1st July 2018
This weekend the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow plays host to the 2018 National Youth and Junior Track Championships in what promises to be three days of intense competition.
The weather may be roasting outside, but the track looks set produce some hot laps as nearly 60 riders take to the boards. Throughout the three competition sessions, riders will compete for individual championship titles in a variety of competitions. With a great mix of races and a field of riders from across the country competing, it's going to be a brilliant weekend of racing.
Scottish riders have a successful history competing at national level, and we hope to see a number of riders from our clubs on the podium throughout the weekend. Last year, Alfie George dominated the Youth A Boys, setting National Records and countless titles. Having moved up this year, he won't be defending his title leaving the competition open for the boys.
Chief Executive of Scottish Cycling Craig Burn said: "I would like to wish the riders the very best of luck in the competition and to thank everyone who has dedicated their time and resources to making this event a success – the riders, clubs, officials, sponsors and the volunteers without whom this event would not be possible."
The event kicks off on Friday evening, with racing continuing throughout on Saturday and Sunday. Track centre will be open for spectators all weekend with refreshments available, come down and cheer on our future stars!
