This weekend (10th and 11th June) is the Spokes Cycles/Limits Kingdom Junior Classic 2017, part of the British Cycling Junior Road Series for the 3rd consecutive year.

The two day event which is hosted by Spokes Racing Team Craig Grieve is based in Kennoway in Fife.

89 Juniors will be taking to the start line, including Scottish riders Stephen Dent and Dylan Hughes who were recently selected to compete for Team Scotland at the Youth Commonwealth Games this summer.

They will be joined by Scots Finn Crockett and Joe Reilly, as well as team mates Alex Ridehalgh and George Wharton riding for Spokes Racing Team this weekend.

Glasgow Cycle Team have put forward Innes Johnston, Fraser MacDougall, Danny Mulholland and Callum Shackley for the stage event. Team Scotland Select consists of Scottish riders Sean Dupree, Lewis Gray, Charlie Johnston, Lewis MacFarlane and Alexander MacRae.

Struan Pryde from Aberdeenshire will also be riding for HMT with JLT Condor over the weekend.

Stage 1 on the 10th June takes the riders 107km from the beautiful University town and home of golf - St Andrews on a fast technical rolling route with the sting in the tail being a summit finish on Falkland Hill.

Stage 2 on Sunday the 11th is as last year starting in Kennoway and taking in the climbs of Cadgers Brae and Cults Hill twice before a very fast technical run in to the finish on the outskirts of Kennoway after 99km of racing

Event Organiser Craig Grieve said:

“After trialling our well received stage race format last year we have kept the two day format tinkering slightly to give a two stage format this year. We look forward to seeing you all on the 10th and 11th of June and hope you enjoy the race.”
