The Scottish Cycling technical commission, along with the support of the Scottish Cycling Board, would like to announce a few changes to the Scottish National Youth Omnium Championships, to come into place this year.

Currently the Omnium Championships for Youth B&C riders consists of a 500TT, Sprint Competition and 1500m Pursuit.

However, by bringing our Championship more in line with the new and improved British Cycling Youth Omnium format we will be able to make the events more interesting and technical for the riders, give more track time for the riders and make the championship more enjoyable.

Therefore the Board have approved that the Youth Omnium will now consist of a 500TT, Scratch Race and Keirin (which can become a sprint if numbers are low/ not appropriate.) The technical regulations will be updated in due course to reflect the above changes.

The Scottish National Youth Omnium Championship will be included in the Scottish National Youth and Junior Track Championships on 23rd-25th June. Entries for this event are now open on the British Cycling system here.
