Four Scots head to UCI XC MTB World Cup in Nove Mesto

Four Scottish Cross Country Mountain Bikers are set to start the 2017 World Cups this weekend in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic.

Isla Short, Grant Ferguson, Kerry MacPhee and Ella Conolly will all be taking to the start line.

Isla Short, who rides for OMX Pro Team will be competing, alongside Ella Conolly, who rides for Great Britain Cycling Team, in the Under 23 race.

Grant Ferguson will be riding with his team CST American Eagle in the Elite Men race, whilst Kerry MacPhee will be riding in the Elite Women for Rock and Road.

This will be the first opportunity for riders to gain Commonwealth Games qualifying times to ride for Team Scotland in Gold Coast next year.

Scotland’s Cross Country Mountain Bikers have already been making a name for themselves this season already, with Scottish riders featuring on 27 podiums across the first three rounds of the British Mountain Bike Series, in Pembrey Country Park, Wasing Park and Aske Estate, Richmond.
