On Sunday 19th March the Scottish Downhill Association (SDA) kicked off the Scottish Downhill Series in Ae Forest with over 250 riders making the journey to race down the hills, despite what the weather tried to throw at them.
The SDA make a few alterations to the track this year, to add in a few challenges for the seasoned riders who compete year after year - but not enough to scare off any newcomers to the sport.
In the elite men Adam Brayton (Hope Factory Racing) leads the table with Donald Miller leading the Open Men category and Reece Langhorn the Expert Men.
In the 13-14 Boys Logan Wilcox leads, with Transition Bikes/ FMD Factory Racing Teams Jamie Edmondson leading the 15-16 Boys category. Henry Kerr (Revolution CT) takes the lead in the 17-18 Boys after round 1.
Christopher Gallagher (Progression Bikes Racing) and Jason Shill (Keswick Bikes KMB) take the top positions in 19-29 Men and 30-39 Men respectively. Chris Whitfield currently leads the 40+ Men category.
In the female categories, Leslie Bike Shop/ Bikers Boutique rider Tea Jensen is top of the table in the Under 19s and Becci Skelton takes the lead in the 19+ category.
