Scots Top Ten at the HSBC UK National Cyclo-cross Championships

There were around 30 Scots in attendance at the HSBC UK National Cyclo-cross Championships at the weekend with many taking top ten places.

Eva Young (Pedal Power RT) was the highest placed Scot, winning the under 14's category.

In the elite men, Grant Ferguson (CST Brentjens MTB Racing) came 4th after a battle with Lancashire's Paul Oldham (Hope Factory Racing).

Isla Short (Novus OMX Pro Team) took 5th place in the Under 23 Women, only one place behind Ella Connolly (100% ME) in 4th place, with Harry Johnston (Leslie Bike Shop/Bikers Boutique) taking 7th in the Under 23 Men.

In the Junior Men category Sean Flynn (Edinburgh RC) and Cameron Mason (Leslie Bike Shop/Bikers Boutique) were 6th and 9th respectively.

Eilidh Shaw (Stirling Bike Club) kept herself in the top ten, 9 places behind Eva Young in 10th place in the Under 14 girls.

There were two Scots in the Under 14 boys too, with Callum Reid (Rock and Road) in 7th place and Corran Carrick-Anderson (Peebles CC) in 10th.

To top it off Stirling Bike Club's Brenda Callander was on the Vet 50 Women podium in 3rd place.

Well done to all the Scots who made the journey to Bradford for the Championships.
