NEWS IN BRIEF: Worlds, Euro’s and successful MTB coaching.

The UCI Road World Championships in Doha came to an end yesterday – with the Great Britain Cycling team taking positions in the top five in both the women’s and the men’s road race. Eileen Roe and Tao Geoghegan Hart were both riding with the team. It was also announced that the UCI Road World Championships will be coming to Yorkshire in 2019.

The European Track Championships start on Wednesday in Saint Quentin-en-Yvelines. Scots Jack Carlin, Katie Archibald, Mark Stewart and Ellie Richardson will be part of the sixteen strong Great Britain Cycling Team.

The third round of the Revolution Series is in Manchester this weekend; team Scotland Burness Paull will be travelling to compete and try and move themselves up the rankings. Stay tuned for the team announcement.

The Scottish National Hill Climb Championships took place at the weekend, have a read of the report here.

Scottish Cycling held another endurance iDevelop session at the weekend at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome. The programme aims to identify emerging talent of the Junior category and above and provide them with an opportunity to work with our National Coaches, with the aim of graduating onto the Performance Development Programme.

A successful Level 2 Mountain Bike DSU took place in Dundee at the weekend, with eight out of eight participants passing their practical assessment. Well done to everyone who took part!
