Scottish Cycling is delighted to announce that the Scottish National 25 mile Time Trial Championships are to be held on 10th September 2016 on the previously planned Irvine course.
The Championships had to be cancelled earlier this year due to essential maintenance works on the course and therefore Scottish Cycling is pleased that an alternative date has been found.
Experienced time trial event organiser Mhairi Laffoley, from Fife Century Road Club, stepped up to organise the National Championship with the support of Scottish Cycling and local club Ayr Roads Cycling Club, however to make sure the event runs smoothly, she will need as many volunteers as possible.
If you are, or you know of anyon who is, interested in volunteering on the day, please let Mhairi know in advance.
Craig Burn, Chief Executive said:
“Scottish Cycling works with clubs and event organisers across Scotland to run hundreds of events on the calendar each year – being forced to cancel an event is hugely disappointing for us and therefore we are delighted and very grateful that Mhairi stepped forward and offered to take on the challenge of organising the Scottish National 25 mile TT Championship this year.”
The decision has also been made that all entries will transfer over to the new date and anyone wishing to withdraw will be offered a full refund before the 25th of July.
This will protect riders from having to pay multiple administration fees and also ensure you have a place secured on the rearranged date, should you wish to use it.
Please confirm whether you wish to keep your place in the 2016 National 25 Mile Time Trial Championship on Saturday 10th September 2016, by emailing the new Event Organiser, Mhairi Laffoley (firstname.lastname@example.org) before Monday 25th July.
If you do not confirm your place before the 25th July, your entry will be withdrawn from the event and we will open the event again to accept new entries. If you have previously been withdrawn or rejected, please also email Mhairi before the deadline.
Many thanks for your patience and understanding in this matter. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mhairi or a member of the Scottish Cycling Events Team at email@example.com
