With 2 weeks until the British National BMX Championships in Manchester, there was a lot at stake this weekend at the Scottish Regional in Cumbernauld.

Riders were testing their legs, their skills, their equipment, and their pre-race routines. Above all this stress was the usual fun and laughter at the side of the track as the weather couldn't decide to roast, or drown the riders!

In the Cruiser category, close battles for first place were between Raymond Reid and Peter Crowson (who also found legs for the 20" category throughout the meet), Reid seeing the finish line first by the skin of his teeth in all 3 motos, and bossing it in the final.

Male 8 category, consistent riding saw Logan Taylor take the win over Jake Nisbet and Nathan Young. A big shout out goes to Reuben Bill, the youngest rider at the meet, riding in this category when he should be in the M6 and under!

Male 10, fantastic battles throughout the motos, places a chopping and changing between all of the riders. Harrison Bell consistently top two positions, Fergus Whitehouse taking the win in the final moto after a disastrous start with a crash putting him into 7th on the first moto.

Male 13, a highly competitive category with heart stopping battles for the top three positions in all 3 motos and the final. No one was letting Final winner Cameron Reid have it easy, this category is fierce.

Championship Category, with two female riders in the mix - Molly Shearer and Jodie Hill - fast fast fast, as soon as the gate dropped Josh Hanlon (winner) was first out leading the pack around the track to fight out the rest of the positions. Some great track craft saw positions won on the berms, fantastic skills were seen on the jumps.

Next week sees the final Scottish BMX Regional hosted by Musselburgh Monarchs at Clydebank. Come along to see Round 9 and finish the series in fine style!
