Posted:14 March 2014

The Scottish Downhill Association (SDA) and the Scottish Cross Country (SXC) Series have today (14 March 2014) launched their rider booklet for 2014.

The booklet is packed full of information on race venues, the events and guides for beginners with pages dedicated to the adrenaline soaked SDA and lycra-clad XC racers. Each page is also adorned with stunning images from the two race series, to capture the hearts of new and old racers alike. A bonus feature of the rider booklet is a A4 middle page pull out poster, which will be a must for the bedroom wall!

Graeme McLean, Project Manager of Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland (DMBinS) said, “The rider booklet is an inspiring project, and really shows the benefits of collaboration between both race series. The booklet feature many motivational images and not just of the fast elite riders!

The information contained in the booklet is extremely useful, with lots of helpful hits and tips on the courses and events. The booklet will allow cross-promotion of both the SDA and the SXC, and will also provide a good memento for racers of their season.”

Colin Houston, Chairman of the SDA said, “We are extremely pleased with the finished rider booklet. It really shows off the series to its full potential, with fantastic images and lots of information on the race courses. We were delighted to work in partnership with the SXC Series to create something which participants in both disciples can enjoy. The support from Scottish Cycling and DMBinS has been invaluable in producing this great piece of work. We hope this partnership will become pre-season standard for many years to come.”

Steve Brown, Chairman of the SXC series said, “The booklet is a brilliant addition to the SXC Series material. The images are so inspiring that they would make anyone want to come along and try out racing, and the event information will be helpful to all levels of riders. The partnership with the SDA has been extremely beneficial, as we appreciate the importance of strong national race series in all off-road disciplines. We are grateful to Scottish Cycling and DMBinS for their help and support to create the rider booklet; it will be valued by all riders in the series.”
