Scottish Cycling – Education & Training Officer

Scottish Cycling is seeking to appoint an experienced and dynamic individual to lead and direct the development and implementation of Education and Training.   This position is central to driving forward the skills and capabilities of those delivering the performance and participation pathways of the National Governing Body  and will play an important part in supporting coaches, officials and other key volunteers leading cycle sport. Fundamental to this is the administration and delivery of the UKCC Coach Education framework and the successful applicant will demonstrate a sound understanding of this aspect of the pathway.

You will be responsible for the administration of commissaires and officials training to support the needs of national and regional events structures along with the training and education opportunities for key volunteers to support the needs of the clubs, events and communities of cycling. You will develop and administer continuing professional development opportunities for coaches, leaders, tutors, commissaires, officials and key volunteers and will develop and maintain systems to track and ensure appropriate workforce planning to meet the growth demands of the sector.

The Education & Training Officer will have overall responsibility for the operational planning, development and monitoring of the programs within this function, including the key area of quality assurance. The Education & Training Officer will ensure all activities meet the key targets identified within SC’s Strategic Plan 2013-2018 and are delivered on time and on budget.

Monitoring and evaluation are critical to gauging success and you will be expected to continue to develop robust reporting procedures across this area in line with the implementation of quality assurance. Fundamental to this role is effective communication and you will excel in motivating and supporting staff, volunteers and key stakeholders.
