Scottish Cross Country Series (SXC) AGM, will be held on the 26th January 2014.
The meeting will follow on from a successful 2013, to plan and prepare for the 2014 series. In what will be an extremely exciting year for sport in Scotland, the SXC are already looking forward to a fantastic 2014 series, with six events at venues across Scotland. The series is built on strong foundations of willing volunteers and enthusiasts who work for the racers to deliver ever-improved events.
The series is run entirely by volunteers from the national organising committee through to the clubs who help organise each round. The SXC committee are looking to recruit new volunteers to strength the committee in the following roles: Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Sponsorship Secretary and General Committee members.
Bill Ross, SXC Chair, explained the need to recruit new volunteers: “Leading into the Commonwealth Games year, it’s an exciting time to be involved with mountain biking in Scotland. We need to capitalise on the increased profile of the activity by recruiting new members onto our committee. With committed volunteers the SXC will go from strength to strength and help develop world class athletes. The roles are challenging but they are rewarding – and you will be offered the training you’ll need to do a great job. We are keen to receive applications from anyone with a keen interest in mountain biking and with regard to the more specialist roles we are keen to receive applications from anyone with a background and experience in finance and sponsorship.”

The committee hope to appoint new members at the SXC AGM which will be held on 26th January 2014. The meeting will begin at 10am at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, Emirates Arena, 1000 London Road, Glasgow, G40 3HY. Following the meeting the Committee will be heading up to Cathkin Braes for a ride around the Commonwealth Games XC course and all are invited along.
