Saturday 20th July saw rider’s from all over the country race on the newly built Commonwealth Games course at Cathkin Braes Country Park with the Under 12, Under 10, Under 8, Sport, Open and Fun taking place.

After a fantastic afternoon of racing we had 9 incredible winners which included: Eildih Gronkowski, Gavin Gronkowski, Iona Aldridge, Aidan Lawrence, Anna Flynn, Jamies Johnston, Tom Newman, Andrew Edmond and Darren Caines.

Under 12 winner Jamie Johnston (Thompsons Cycles) said:The course today was amazing, it was really fast and flowing and the sun was shining! I am delighted to win here at Cathkin Braes Country Park in front of a home crowd and will defiantly be heading to the Mountain Biking at the Commonwealth Games next year.”

On Sunday 21st July we will see Olympic and Commonwealth Games athlete and 5 times British Champion Liam Killeen, XC Eliminator World Cup winner Kenta Gallagher and Scottish Champion Lee Craigie take to the course at Cathkin Braes Country Park with the hopes of clinching the British National Championship titles on the 2014 Commonwealth Games course.

Spectators attending can use Glasgow City Council’s FREE SPT spectator shuttle Bus system. The shuttle will be running from Hampden Transport Hub on Aikenhead Road to the Championship event village at Cathkin Braes every 15 minutes with a drop off/ pick up point at Kings Park rail station.

Alternatively for those that want to ride to the event there is a designated Bike Park (remember your bike lock).
