Article: Scottish Cycling Centres Meeting/Workshop

Event Date: Saturday 06th April

Event Time: 10:30 - 12:30

Scottish Cycling would like to invite all Regional Centres to send 2 representatives to a meeting of all Centres at North Inch Community Campus, Gowans Terrace, Perth, Perth and Kinross, PH1 5BF‎.

The purpose of the meeting will be to:-

  • Provide an update on, and, share the findings and recommendations of the Governance Review with Centres
  • Share the key themes in our outline Strategic Plan and highlight some key successes
  • Provide an opportunity for Centres to help shape our future direction and explore how Centres, Scottish Cycling Staff and Clubs can all develop our partnership working

We have seen a 109% growth in membership since April 2009, fantastic medal results at London 2012, great new facilities in Glasgow and Dundee and the prospect of a “home games” at Glasgow in 2014, we have never been in such exciting times for Scottish Cycling.

We have relocated, undergone a Governance Review and are currently formulating and finalising our strategic plan. Centres have always played a key role in the organisation and we want share our ideas and to develop how we can all work more effectively together to face the challenges of the future and capitalise on the opportunities.

We look forward to meeting all Centres and to collectively moving all of Scottish Cycling forward in these exciting times as we rapidly approach Glasgow 2014 and all the opportunities that presents.

We would encourage all individuals and clubs to talk directly to their club and centre before the meeting to ensure your views are represented.
