Triathlon Coaching Conference 2013

Press Release: Triathlon Scotland


The inaugural triathlonscotland Coaching Conference will be held on 23 and 24 February 2013 at the new Emirates Arena, Glasgow.  The conference, aimed at UKCC qualified triathlon coaches as well as aspiring triathlon coaches is a chance to learn from industry experts, network with other coaches and celebrate our great sport.  

Members of triathlonscotland receive a discount in course costs at £95 for two days and £47.50 for one day.  The non member price to attend is £135 / £67.50.  Membership of triathlonscotland is only £38 so if you are interested in gaining a UKCC coaching qualification in 2013 we encourage you to sign up to the conference and our membership scheme.

The conference timetable, session descriptions and speaker biographies are noted below.

  • Psychology: Motivation & Goal Setting - Dave Young
  • Coaching Children - Kerry MacPhee
  • Coaching Paratriathletes - Janice Eaglesham
  • Long Course Nutrition - Joel Enoch
  • Engaging Young People - Sam Langstaff
  • Injury Prevention in Triathlon - Kirstin Carroll
  • Cycle Maintenance - Mark Telford
  • Successful Conflict Management - Marie-Claire Thomson
  • Effective Communication - Marie-Claire Thomson

 

There will also be a number of practical workshops at the conference.  You will need your kit to work out. Confirmed for 2013 are

 

  • Running for triathlon - Alister Russell
  • Conditioning for Triathlon - Dave Leith
  • Cycling: coaching a session in cornering/group riding - Scott Tares
  • The importance & application of performance testing in a club setting - Alan Cardwell
