Scottish Elite MTB riders Montgomerie and Henderson sign with the GT Muc-Off Team for 2013.
Top Scottish Elite XC mountain bike racers riders Gareth montgomerie and Dave Henderson will remain with GT Bicycles for the third year running and look to build on a successful campaign in 2012, which saw them finish 10th in a UCI stage race in Andalucía and achieve podium positions in the British Mountain Bike Series.
Both riders are members of the Scottish Cycling Performance Program and as the qualification period for the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games commences this year they will be focusing on both meeting qualification standards and racing at a high level internationally to develop their ability to compete at the top level of the sport.

Cycling Sports Group (CSG) UK, announced today the introduction of a new Cross Country Mountain Bike Team – GT Muc-Off Racing. Muc-Off, the market leader in bicycle care products joins GT Bicycles as title sponsors of the team formally known as GT Racing UK.
Alex Trimnell, Managing Director of Muc-Off commented, “I’m very excited to be working with GT Bicycles and Cycling Sports Group. Muc-Off has been involved with mountain biking since the scene began in the UK. The GT Bicycles brand has always been at the forefront, with the very best riders and equipment. The team consists of four of the U.K.’s most talented elite riders: Gareth Montgomerie; Dave Henderson; Ed McParland; and, Jon Pybus. “Montgomerie and Henderson are serious contenders for the 2014 Commonwealth Games selection this season,” said Trimnell.
In 2012 the season started with a win at the opening round of the Midlands XC series. Hende
rson and Montgomerie represented GT Bicycles at the Andalucía Bike Race in Spain.In a very tough race they finished an amazing 10th place overall. This placed them as both the highest British and highest placed non-UCI accredited team. The team also had great success in events including the Red Bull Hill Chasers event where they competed head to head against riders from all cycling disciplines .Montgomerie finished in 2nd place, the fastest mountain biker up the notoriously steep climb in Bristol’s city centre. The team has plans to exceed their accomplishments for the 2013 season with the additional support of Muc-Off.
