Kids Club president David Mason said: “We are really excited to be hosting our first open race and look forward to welcoming lots of young cyclists to Linlithgow. Entry is just £3.00 per rider and, as there is no requirement to have a British Cycling licence, we hope that this will encourage as many kids to take part as possible.

“For the parents, our famous portable cafe will once again be in operation, serving teas, coffees and an array of tempting home-baking.”

Meanwhile, West Lothian Clarion Kids Club has received a financial boost with the news that an application to the Big Lottery Fund has resulted in £1,900.00 of additional funding. Kids Club fundraising officer Jackie Mason revealed that the cash will be used to fund additional coach training and buy another bike to be loaned out to a club member for the 2013-14 season.
