Scottish Cycling is delighted to offer a workshop for any individuals, clubs or groups who wish to learn the basics of organising mountain biking events.

The workshop will involve the following: 

  • Planning your mountain biking event - type of event, parking, partners, timescales
  • Promoting your event
  • Risk assessing your course and venue
  • Delivering a quality event describing the roles and responsibilities needed including Commissaire, timekeeper, marshalls and more...
  • Legalities of running your event including insurance, access legislation and FCS/SC agreement
  • Registering your event online
  • Joining your event with the Scottish National Series (SDA & SXC)

AND

  • Scottish Cycling (and you) will deliver a (short but fun) mountain biking event involving everyone on the course.
  • This practical session will bring to life the various roles involved in creating a quality event.
  • Will use the NEW trail at Mains Farm Wigwams!

What to bring with you:

Participants should bring with them paper and pens for morning classroom session and bike, helmet and appropriate clothing (dependent on weather conditions).

The event is FREE and lunch will be provided. However if you would like to make a donation to cover the costs of the event you can do so when you register.   

This workshop is being workshop will be delivered in partnership with Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland. It is hoped any events being planned as a result of the workshop will be encompassed within the regional cluster plans (Central, Tayside & Fife and Highlands).
