The 20th Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 25th November 2023.

The venue for this year’s Annual General Meeting will be the Melville Hall, Crieff Hydro, Ferntower Road, Crieff, PH7 3LQ.

As there were no motions for other changes other than the proposal to amend the Articles, papers for this agenda item are not provided.

Paper copies of any of these documents can be requested, no later than 48 hours before the AGM, and can be collected at the registration desk on arrival. Please contact Scottish Cycling by email agm@scottishcycling.org.uk

To vote at the AGM all clubs are asked to complete the Club Representative Nomination Form to tell us who from your club is attending. Club Representative Nomination Form must be returned to Scottish Cycling no later than 10am, Thursday 23 November 2023.

Forms of Proxy must be returned to Scottish Cycling no later than 10am, Thursday 23 November 2023.

These forms should be emailed to agm@scottishcycling.org.uk If posted, they should be received at the Scottish Cycling Office no later than Thursday 23 November 2023.

If you have any questions regarding the Annual Report, or any of the AGM materials, we encourage members to submit written questions regarding any specific matters you may have. This will allow the Board to consider and provide an informed response in advance of the AGM and allow additional time for open debate and discussion on the day.

Please submit any written questions by 10am on Friday 17 November 2023 to agm@scottishcycling.org.uk. We will provide individual written feedback and will publish a list of all Questions & Answers on the website.

Dear Member,

Scottish Cycling is delighted to invite you to the 2023 Scottish Cyclists’ Union Annual General Meeting, beginning at 12:15pm on Saturday 25 November 2023. The venue for this year’s Annual General Meeting will be Melville Hall, Crieff Hydro, Ferntower Road, Crieff, PH7 3LQ.

Please find below key dates and milestones for this year’s AGM.

1.       Preliminary Motion

One resolution, from the Board, proposing amendments to the Articles of Association and the Byelaws has been raised for the 2023 AGM.

Any amendments to the preliminary motion must reach Scottish Cycling by no later than 28 October 2023

2.       Club/Association Voting Numbers

The voting numbers for each Club/Association can now be downloaded. Scottish Cycling will issue Nominated Representative forms and,if your Club/Association’s representatives cannot attend the 2023 AGM, Proxy Voting forms with our third and final mailing.  This will be issued no later than 4 November 2023.

Conference and Awards Dinner

In addition to the AGM, and following on from the success of last year, we have 2 other great events taking place at Crieff Hydro on the same day.

The Scottish Cycling Conference, which incorporates the AGM, will feature a range of keynote speakers, round table discussions and breakout sessions giving members the chance to learn about and contribute to the future plans for Scottish Cycling. The conference provides an opportunity for members from across the sport, irrespective of their role to come together, for a day of leaning, sharing and networking. The Awards Dinner is a chance to celebrate the best of Scottish Cycling over the past 12 months. As well as celebrating the many achievements over the past year it will be a great opportunity to network with members of the cycling community from all over Scotland. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased via the website.

Scottish Cycling hereby gives notice that the 2023 Scottish Cyclists’ Union Annual General Meeting will take place on Saturday 25 November 2023.

More information will follow shortly.

Please find below key dates and milestones for this year’s AGM.            

1. Propositions for the 2023 Agenda

If your club or association would like to propose anything to be included in the 2023 Agenda this should reach Scottish Cycling no later than 30 September 2023. Propositions may include changes to the Memorandum, Articles of Association and Byelaws. All propositions must have been approved by two officials in your club or association and be submitted on the proposition form.    

2. Nominations for Board of Directors

Scottish Cycling has two positions for (re-)election to the Board of Directors at the AGM in November, with one of the existing Directors confirming they wish to stand for a second three-year term. Scottish Cycling would welcome any nominations from people who can support our desire to widen the equality, diversity and inclusivity across all disciplines of cycle sport.  We would especially welcome applications from those with a background in legal, marketing & communications, underrepresented disciplines such as BMX or from a minority ethnic background. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact either the Chair, President or CEO for an informal chat. Please see the link below to the nomination form and role descriptor. Nominations should be submitted by 30 September 2023.

Please circulate the details to your membership to ensure we reach as many potential applicants as possible.

3. Agenda Papers

Preliminary Agenda papers will be circulated by 14 October 2023.  Once received any amendments to the preliminary Agenda must reach Scottish Cycling by no later than 28 October 2023 and final Agenda papers will be issued by 4 November 2023.          

4. Club/Association Representation

Details of each club or association’s representation at the 2023 AGM will be circulated nearer the time.

5. Written Reports and Questions

Scottish Cycling will publish our Annual Report no later than 4 November 2023. Any questions on the Annual Report should reach the Scottish Cycling by no later than 17 November 2023 and where possible we will provide written answers to all questions to allow us more time for any debate on the day.  Any questions submitted and their answers will be published on the AGM section of our website which can be found here.
