Scottish Cycling, the National Governing Body for cycling in Scotland, will be delivering a Series of 6 regional Mini Downhill Events between March and May 2012 to select the countries best under 16 Downhill riders to race at the Mini Downhill Final during the Award winning UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, Fort William on the 09th June 2012.
What is a Mini downhill?
Downhill mountain biking is a fast and exciting sport, pitting man and machine against the clock. Each rider has to ride a set course comprising of jumps, drops, roots, rocks, twists and turns. The aim: to complete the course in the fastest time you can! Mini downhill is just like the real thing but smaller! Shorter courses, smaller bikes and younger riders but all of the passion, excitement and drama of racing! The Mini Downhill Series will provide a pathway for aspiring riders aged between 8 – 16 years of age to get their first taste of Downhill mountain bike racing!
Scottish Cycling would like to hear from any companies, brands or individuals interested in becoming a Presenting Partner for the Mini Downhill series. We have a selection of sponsorship packages available which will each deliver fantastic opportunities for any company or brand.
