Scottish Cycling In partnership with sportscotland and with the support of the Scottish Cyclo-cross Association is delighted to introduce the first Scottish Cycling Cyclo-cross coaching seminar.

All coaches and non-coaches of all levels and disciplines from across Scotland are invited to attend and get involved with an exciting line-up of expert speakers who will deliver engaging talks and workshops on a range of fascinating topics.

The primary purpose of the seminar is to develop Cyclo-cross coaches, with the support of our partner sportscotland, we are able to invest in coach development, providing opportunities (such as this) for coaches to progress and improve.    At Scottish Cycling we believe that coaching and quality coaching is critical to the development of the sport.  A better coach can develop better riders!

The rise in popularity of Cyclo-cross is nothing but meteoric with events regularly attracting 400 – 500 competitors, in some cases more.  So to improve and develop all these competitors we need lots of new coaches.  Cyclo-cross is a fun, coach-able and rewarding discipline work in and it is amazing for developing young riders, it is inclusive, family friendly and best of all you do not need twenty hours a week to be good.

To support our coaches and riders further we are collaborating with the Cyclo-cross cluster sessions, run by Andy Strathdee from Edinburgh Road Club, to make a day of coach development; seminar in the morning and cluster in the afternoon.
