Kids get on their bikes for the Midlothian bike festival

The Midlothian Bike Festival 2017 held at Beeslack High School on 13th June was a cycletastic success.

There were over 200 pupils from around a dozen local primary schools, taking part on the day. The event had them racing, learning new bike skills, watching skills demonstrations and having fun.

Local bike club Midlothian Cycle Club were on hand to give bike maintenance tips, Scottish Cycling provided some fun with static roller racing.

Ikea provided the goody bags for the kids to take away a souvenir of the day.

Sean Fallon the event organiser from Midlothian active said he was ‘delighted’ with the success of the day. Commenting the follow up steps are to work with Scottish Cycling and Midlothian Cycle Club to step some kids sessions at the venue for the start of 2017/18 term.
