Scottish Cycling is working with sportscotland to deliver Positive Coaching Scotland workshops (PCS) for cycling.
Sportscotland work in partnership with the Winning Scotland Foundation on the workshops.
PCS is a programme designed to provide a positive sporting environment for young people. It focuses on using sport to help and support children’s learning and the development of their life skills. PCS helps teach them to:
- Appreciate the value of effort and learning
- Improve their personal performance
- Foster a competitive, but fair, sporting mentality
- Deal positively with mistakes
It is designed to transform attitudes and behaviours and support those involved in sport to create and maintain a positive sporting environment for all. Through this positive environment, young people are encouraged to stay in sport longer.
PCS offers a visionary approach—a practical alternative to the ‘win at all costs’ mentality and a timely response to the challenges facing youth sport. It provides the tools and framework for a positive sporting experience that can also be character-building.
The Benefits of PCS include:
- Confident coaches
- Winning teams & Clubs
- Increased membership
- Better retention of members
- A better place to play and train
Information about when we will be holding these workshops will be available soon.
