The South East Region has now confirmed the process it intends to adopt for the taking place in London in May 2012.

This year the UKSG is a multi discipline event, featuring two days of road racing at HogHill, and one day of track racing at the new London Velodrome in the Olympic Park.  This is a very exciting opportunity, to not only represent the region but to ride an Olympic venue before the Olympians themselves.

Riders wishing to be part of the UK School Games team should contact Team Manager Luke Anderson at lucas.anderson@sky.com for an application form for entry to the team. Riders should then complete and return the form, which asks for rider’s race results for 2011, and asks riders to provide details of indoor track experience, as well as why they feel they should be part of UK School Games team for 2012. Riders must have their applications completed and returned by Wednesday 15 February 2012.

In addition to the application process, which considers results and experience in 2011, coaches will use a coaching session run by the South East Cycling Academy to guage riders’ current form.  The inaugural South East Cycling Academy (SECA) session will take place at CycloPark Gravesend, on Saturday February 18 2012. Riders can enter the session here:

Riders wishing to compete at the games are expected to take part in the session. The deadline for entry to the session is Wednesday 15 February 2012. If you are unable to attend the session please contact Luke Anderson as soon as possible, and complete an application form to show your interest in representing the South East Region at UKSG 2012.
