Victory for Ed Clancy makes him most successful individual rider in Series history as Team UK Youth edge closer to the title.

Team UK Youth edged closer to overall Pearl Izumi Tour Series success with victory in Round Nine at Woking, as Ed Clancy took the individual win to make him the most successful individual rider in Series history.Clancy's third win of the 2013 Series moved him onto six individual wins, one ahead of Dean Downing, who he beat into third place in Woking

Between them came Yanto Barker, taking second to help Team UK Youth to their sixth team victory from nine races, putting them 13 points clear of nearest challengers Team Raleigh.

Clancy's victory also means he is the first rider to win three individual rounds of The Pearl Izumi Tour Series in one season.

The Pearl Izumi Tour Series' fifth visit to Woking saw a fast paced race with few moves able to escape the peloton. An impressive display of riding from Node4 Giordana Racing, who dominated the front of the peloton in the closing laps kept the pace high and ensured a bunch kick, but it was the red Pearl Izumi Tour Series leaders' jerseys that hit the front when it mattered.

Exiting the final hairpin though it was the black Rapha Condor JLT jersey of Clancy that hit the front with nobody able to come around the double Olympic Champion on the dash to the line.

Second, sixth and ninth secured the team victory on the night for UK Youth, with Node4 rewarded with second on the night ahead of Rapha Condor JLT and Team Raleigh.

Tom Scully finished as top Raleigh rider in eighth, also winning the IG Sprint competition on the night to move within touching distance of claiming the IG Sprint jersey.

Highlights of Round Nine will be shown on ITV4 at 10pm on Wednesday 12th June, with a repeat at 12.50pm on Thursday 13th June.

The final two rounds of the 2013 Pearl Izumi Tour Series take place in East Anglia at Aylsham on Thursday 13th June and Ipswich on Friday 14th June.

The Grand Final at Ipswich features a double-header race day, with a Team Time Trial at 3pm before the final criterium of The Pearl Izumi Tour Series at 7.30pm. Spectators in Ipswich will also have a chance to see the professionals take part in the new Suffolk - Most Active County - Sprint Challenge at 5.30pm.
