Pre-race favourite Silas Goldsworthy (Sandy Wallace Cycles) secured victory in the Corrieri Classic 10-mile time trial, promoted by Stirling Bike Club on a course near Cambusbarron on Sunday.

Despite chilly conditions there were some respectable times, and none of the snow that had blighted cycling events in other areas of the country.

Goldsworthy was 15 seconds clear of his nearest rivals – tied for second place were Ben Peacock (Paisley Velo) and Alan Thompson (Sandy Wallace Cycles), while Sean Childs (Royal Navy and Royal Marines CA) took fourth and was fastest veteran, another 30 seconds off the pace.

Top over-50 rider was Derek McMillan (St Christophers CC) whose time of 23-08 was good enough for 11th overall, while fastest of the females was Victoria Hunter (Sandy Wallace Cycles) with 24-59.
