A full field of 80 riders took to the Milton Common circuit for one of the last 2/3/4 road races on the 2012 calendar for the High Wycombe Autumn RR.

With dry but windy conditions it didn't take long for an attack to come in the 62 mile race as Douglas Coleman (CC Luton), Ben Carty and Nigel Williams (Python RT) went clear of the field before they had tackled the first ascent of Claire Hill. However the break never gained any more then 30 seconds and it wasn't long before the three were joined by more looking to get clear of the peloton in the windy conditions. Soon the break had grown and was now 12-strong all working well together to stay clear of the chasing bunch.

Going into the final lap the breakaway had just over one minute lead over the chasers, with the bunch not willing to work together, four more riders jumped clear in pursuit however the efforts were in vain as Tom Neale of Spalding CC slipped free of his breakaway companions with 2 km to go and just hold on to a well earned victory to add to his win in the prime earlier on in the race, Charles Coleman (Cadence Cannondale) and Douglas Coleman (CC Luton) rounded off the podium.
