Lichfield District Council and Lichfield City Cycling Club will be hosting a day of city centre cycle racing on Sunday 26th August 2012.

Now in its third year, the event on the day will feature races for all Youth riders as well as a Cat 3 / 4 and E/1/2/3 race. This year making its city centre debut will be an Urban Mountain Bike race giving off road cyclists a chance to show what they can do on a city centre circuit. There is also a 5k running race for the first time, so if family members are not cyclists they could try the run instead.

Confirmed sponsors include Zipvit, Rapid Racer Products, Teepee Electrical Ltd, Corporate Travel Plus Ltd and Mamil Cycling and as such the organisers expects a good prize list and primes to be on offer in each race.

The first race begins at 9.30am and racing continues throughout the day to the last race which is the 5k run at 4.00pm. Due to lobbying from some female riders the organisers have agreed to include a women’s only race into the programme subject to there being 15 advance entries.
