Have you got the bottle to bring home a bit of Team Sky from the Tour de France this summer thanks to Gatorade?

Gatorade launch their summer promotion, giving UK cyclists and Team Sky fans the chance to get a free Team Sky bike bottle and the chance to win one of 100 Team Sky bottles used at the Tour de France and signed by the rider that actually used it

Gatorade, the Official Nutrition Partner to Team Sky, today launched the Gatorade Green Bottle Campaign (#GGreenBottle), where ‘every bottle tells a story’.

From June 1 2012 every 1 x Canister or 12 x Stix of Gatorade PERFORM® Powder purchased will receive a free Gatorade® Team Sky Green Bottle and the chance to win 1 of 100 signed green bottles actually used on the Tour de France by Team Sky. Additionally, the Gatorade Green Bottle Campaign will also provide multiple chances to win experiences , kit and savings from Gatorade during and post the Tour de France this summer.

The iconic green Team Sky bottles are not available for retail and this, for most, will probably be the only opportunity this year for cyclists to get one via a retailler. Additionally, other than going to the Tour de France, something most cyclists and fans aren’t fortunate enough to be able to do, it is probably the only chance to get one back from that tour that was actually used by the likes of Cavendish, Wiggins, Eisel etc.

To be in with a chance to win 1 of the 100 signed bottles, purchasers will need to remove the leaflet from inside their free Gatorade® Team Sky Green Bottle and enter their unique code at www.gatorade.co.uk/greenbottle.

During the Tour, 100 winners will be chosen and receive a bottle in a display case with a certificate of authenticity from Gatorade and Team Sky. The certificate will detail the rider who owned the bottle and a short story about where it was used.

This competition will end on Monday August 20 2012 at which point the final winners will be chosen and the prizes sent out.

Further to this, during the Tour de France Gatorade want to hear on Twitter (@Gatoradeuk) and Facebook (/gatoradeuk) stories about what Gatorade Green Bottles have got up to that day. Cyclists will need to Tweet or post Facebook pictures of their bottle on its favourite ride, at its favourite coffee shop etc with a short story. The best story each day will win entry to a special sportive and the opportunity to ride alongside Team Sky’s Bradley Wiggins on August 19th (www.bradleywigginsfoundation.org)

Post Tour there will be a group of Gatorade Riders (the Hit Squad) out in iconic Gatorade adidas cycling kit , riding some of the UK’s favourite cycling routes. Details of their ride will be communicated on the Gatorade UK Twitter and Facebook. If the Hit Squad finds a rider (or a rider finds the Hit Squad) riding with a Gatorade Green Bottle on their bike, the rider will be rewarded.

To kick off the promotion, and get people thinking about how ‘every bottle tells a story’ Gatorade have released a video featuring Team Sky’s Alex Dowsett and a group of Gatorade Green Bottle-using cyclists including Andrew Pirie, Dan Young, James Jackson, James Wagner, John Levison, Justin Howard, Neil McInerny, Pete Cowan, Phil Kitto, Ralph Hydes, Ryan Bowd, Steve Worthington, Tim Hemming, Tristain Shipsides and more.
