Steve Cummings (BMC) is recovering well after breaking his pelvis in the Tour of Algarve two weeks ago. His accident happened on stage three which, ironically, Cummings sensationally won in 2011, beating Alberto Contador.

Steve said: "Of course it’s really disappointing to have my early season disrupted like this and very frustrating but it wasn’t too long before I was able to start active recovery, although I know I shouldn’t rush things. My team BMC have been very supportive and they are optimistic that I will be fit enough to make my comeback in the Tour of the Basque Country in April”.

Steve will hopefully ride the Ardennes classics in support of Belgian superstar Phillipe Gilbert and hopes to ride Liege-Bastogne–Liege. Cummings also hopes the accident will have little bearing on his support role to 2011 Tour de France winner Cadel Evans in this year's event in July.
