The 2012 season will see a new Circuit Race League based in the Lincolnshire side of the East Midlands region. The new series includes seven dates to ensuring at least one local event every month from March through to September, all held under British Cycling regulations

Series co-ordinator Simon Cocker says "Witham Wheelers have been holding coaching sessions at RAF Barkston Heath (nr Grantham) for the last 4 years and promoted the first open event on the circuit last April, after which there was a lot of positive feedback.

With an obvious unfulfilled demand for events in the area, particularly for Youth riders, by working with local clubs there is now a season long competition providing separate events for Youth CDE, Youth AB, 4th category, Ladies and 2/3/4 categories.

To give some variety not all events in the league will be held at Barkston Heath, with the Yarborough Leisure Centre circuit at Lincoln also being used.

Thanks to sponsorship from Neil Sentence at PEDALPUSHERS the ‘Ultimate Bike Racing Shop’ based in Grantham there will be prizes awarded for each individual race plus an overall prize fund for the winners in each category over the season long competition."
