Fourteen year-old Leon Mazzone is Team Royal London 360's final rider of the month for 2011. He picks up the award for the impressive string of late-season results he produced during August.

Mazzone rode superbly in August to claim the award

The Ramsey youngster started the month in fine style, scoring a brace of top 15 stage placings in the Mayo Youth Tour in Ireland to finish a very good twenty-second overall (seventh U15) in a large international field of almost 90 riders.

At home he won the final round of the hotly contested U16 racing bike class in the weekly youth criterium league at the NSC and, demonstrating his all-round ability, clocked a personal best time of 24 minutes 51 seconds in the penultimate round of the Bikestyle 10 mile time trial league.

A few weeks later Leon fully justified the judge’s decision by winning the junior class of the Island's National Mountain Bike Championship.

In recognition of his achievements Leon received a commemorative trophy and £50 in cash.
