The Great Britain Road Academy team has continued its good form heading into the L'Avenir with victories in Belgium and the Twinings Pro-Am Premier Calendar Race.

Simon Yates celebrates as he wins the Twinings Pro-Am Premier Calendar Race

Mark Christian crossed the line first in Leper, Belgium on Friday, ahead of Thursday's winner Luke Rowe with Tom Moses finishing ninth.

Whilst in Belgium, the team, in their GB leisurewear, also attended the ceremony of the Last Post at the Menin Gate to commemorate the Unknown Soldier and all those who fell in the First World War at Flanders and beyond.

The team then returned to the UK with Simon Yates producing an exceptional performance to win the penultimate event in the Premier Calendar series with Mark Christian finishing in sixth and Joe Kelly leading out Luke Rowe to win the bunch sprint for eighth place.

The team's fine form is the perfect build up with the L'Avenir starting next week. Running from Saturday September 5 to Sunday September 12 2010, the 47th Tour de l'Avenir will be made up of one prologue and eight stages and will cover a total distance of 1,011km. Twenty national teams of six riders will compete.
