Event: Ludgershall Summer Series, Wiltshire, Round 11
Promoted by: Army Cycling Union
Date: Monday, August 8 2011
Report: Snowdon Sports

JUSTIN Hoy (Felt Colbornes) kept the pressure on his rivals for the Ludgershall Summer Circuit Series in Wiltshire when he won the latest E/1/2/3 race to close to just two points of the series leader.

With just one more race to go, series leader Martin Smith (Primal Europe) is feeling the pressure from Hoy who won the penultimate round with a bunch sprint finish despite numerous breakaway attempts all coming to nothing with the last being caught on the final circuit.

Hoy took the win ahead of Ian Rees (Wilier-Go Self Drive), with Martin Smith third.

The racing was very conservative for the 3/4 cats seemingly wanting to wind up for a sprint.

Alec Baskaya (Bath CC) gave an excellent sprint to comfortably win the bunch sprint from Brian Macpherson and Shaun Green.

The final event on August 15 will see the series winners determined.

In the 3/4 event it will either be Paul Carson (Performance Cycles) or Michael Swinford (Cheltenham & County CC) taking the win.

The E/1/2/3 will be either Martin Smith or Justin Hoy taking the win, although there are cash prizes for the top 10 overall with podium photos for the top three. The final race will see primes contested every 15 minutes as well as an overall prize for the race winners.
