British Cycling's National Rankings are one of the most popular destinations on this website as riders track their progress relative to their peers and target moves up through the system. They are also a great guide to which riders are in form.

Elite Men

Rapha Condor Sharp's Dean Downing has proved to be the biggest mover at the top of the Elite Men's rankings, rising up from fourth to second since our last update after his Elite Circuit Series efforts. Victory at the Abergavenny stage followed up with second place finish at Colne five days later was worth 112 points to Downing, who added 10 more points at the Sheffrec CC Evening Road Race 2, finishing seventh.

Downing fell short of knocking Jason White (Cyclepremier.com - Metaltek) off top spot, who steadily picked up points before winning the National Masters 30-39 Road Race Championships (Masters B Men) to earn a valuable 30 points and take his total to 814. Justin Hoy's recent form has also been of note with second place finishes at the Cycle Kingdom Circuit Series 13 and Ludgershall Summer Series 7 propelling the Felt-Colbornes RT rider to fourth behind Endura Racing's Scott Thwaites.

Unsurprisingly Rapha Condor Sharp have marched into what is surely an unassailable lead at the peak with Downing's great efforts backed up by an Ed Clancy win at the Colne GP (part of a 1-2-3-4 for the team with Dean Windsor third and Graham Briggs fourth). Team Raleigh's ascent has catapulted them into second spot in what continues to be a close fought battle with Motorpoint Pro Cycling, who they have pushed down to third.

In a top 10 with plenty of movement, VC St Raphael climb to fourth from sixth but there is no doubt the biggest movers are Team Corley Cycles/Cervelo/Alpha R.C, who have stormed into seventh. Ashley Cox's third place in the Essex Mid Summer Road Race reaping 45 points for the central team whilst Jake Hales' second place at the Glendene CC Summer Classic was worth 52 points as the battle for places is as close as ever.
