With excitement building ahead of the 2011 Road Worlds in Copenhagen, organisers have produced a video highlighting the road race route and the beauty of the host city.

Copenhagen is renowned for being one of the world centres for cycling, with the city's residents famous for choosing the bike to get around, and doing it in considerable style. Indeed the UCI has bestowed the title of UCI 'Bike City' - an honour that will be marked with a huge cycling festival for the duration of the Championship.

The elite Road Race World Championship 2011 starts at Copenhagen City Hall Square with a 28 kilometer stretch (incl. 6,2 km Masterstart) before the riders enter the first of 17 laps at fourteen kilometers each in the Municipal north of Copenhagen at Rudersdal.

All Time Trials starts and finishes at City Hall Square in the heart of Copenhagen. The Elite Men will complete two laps on the 23.2 km circuit, which will take the riders north to Østerbro and Hellerup before reaching Charlottenlund Slotspark. Here, the riders will start their way back towards the Danish capital, passing by Kastellet and Amalienborg which will give them a clear view to the Opera House and Dokøen, on their way to City Hall Square.
