Wessex Cycle Racing League 2010

Story posted March 8, from Mark Standhaft

The Wessex Cycle Racing league kicks off on the 13th March with WXCRL QinetiQ Saturday Circuit 2010 (1/5) held at Barnsfield Heath, one of the best closed road circuits in the country, if not in Europe. Our event programme in 2010 consists of 19 full WXCRL road, stage and circuit races in and around the Southern Region.

Clubs and teams are invited to affiliate in 2010 for only £50 and promote events alongside us; the WXCRL provides invaluable support, personnel, knowhow, equipment, signage, online facilities and infrastructure to organisers wishing to promote within the league. The Bournemouth Arrow and the Poole Wheelers have both organised very successful events with us in 2009 our inaugural year. Clubs and teams have the choice to promote either a Full WXCRL or WXCRL counting event. See our rules for more info about which type might suit your club or event best.

The WXCRL would like to welcome two more affiliated clubs to our ranks, the Sotonia CC and CC Weymouth. The Sotonia are promoting two full WXCRL events this season - WXCRL Sotonia Heath Race 2010 (1/2) on 25/05/2010 and WXCRL Sotonia Heath Race 2010 (2/2) on 01/06/2010 on the Hythe circuit in the New Forest. The Portland Port Lloyd Coward Memorial Road Race organised by the CC Weymouth will be a WXCRL counting event in 2010, so WXCRL points will be up for grabs.

Join the WXCRL in 2010 for just £20 to make sure you get priority entry, cheaper entry fees and be in with a chance to win WXCRL points which will translate into prizes in our season long competition. The WXCRL is first league to adopt a strategy for awarding volunteers; we do this by giving WXCRL points not only to the riders but to organisers, marshals, drivers and helpers so you don’t even have to ride to win. All our entries, registrations and affiliations are handled online by Entryweb – we like trees so no paper entries please!

Please sign up to our popular email newsletter update to keep you informed throughout the season. For more information please give me a ring or send us an email.
