"The way the GB lads have been riding recently, I do have good expectations for them to do well, and with Simon Yates on his current form he should be able to make something from the race."

Coach Keith Lambert

Owain Doull, Sam Harrison, Joe Kelly, Ali Slater and Simon Yates will represent GB in the eight day stage race around Ireland. The route takes in 1180km and includes 33 categorised climbs on the 61st anniversary of the race, with 36 teams expected to take to the start line of this 2.2 category race on the UCI’s Continental Calendar.

Speaking to British Cycling before the event, coach Keith Lambert said: “The Ras is a funny race as it’s hard to predict what’s going to happen. This year’s course will make a tough race with a lot of climbs in it. The way the GB lads have been riding recently, I do have good expectations for them to do well, and with Simon Yates on his current form he should be able to make something from the race.”
