When is the British Cycling eRacing Championships qualification event?

  • The qualification event is on Sunday 24th February 2019 at 10.30AM (GMT).

When is the British Cycling eRacing Championships final?

  • The final is on week commencing 25th March 2019.

How do I register to take part in the qualification event?

How do I win the qualifying event?

  • The qualifying event serves as a means of ranking the top 10 male and female competitors for the live finals. All entries will be verified within 7 days, with the top 10 competitors from each gender category invited to compete in the live final

What does the qualifying event entail?

  • The qualifying event will be a virtual, mass start race that will take place on the Zwift platform. The ride will follow two laps of the same course, the Watopia Figure 8, over a total distance of 58.8km.

  • Taking inspiration from seaside attractions that line the Californian coast, the race starts on the main island from a visual mash-up of the piers in Santa Barbara and Santa Monica before heading north through the underwater tunnels and past the looming Jarvis Tree: a giant Sequoia, before heading back towards the pier via connecting islands to complete the first loop.

What is Watopia?

  • Watopia is Zwift’s most popular map where riders can accomplish feats otherwise impossible in real life, like pedalling through an active volcano and under the sea through a network of glass tunnels.

Do I need to be a British Cycling member to take part?

  • Anyone can compete in British Cycling eRacing Championships Qualifier on the 24th February 2019. However, you will need to be a British Cycling member  to qualify for the live final. Where will the live final be held?

  • The British Cycling eRacing Championships, powered by Zwift final will take place in London week commencing 25th March 2019. Timings will be confirmed in due course

What are the terms & conditions for the qualification?

  • Terms and conditions for the British Cycling eRacing Championships Qualifier can be found here. T&Cs for the British Cycling eRacing Championships, powered by Zwift final qualifications will be confirmed in due course.

  • All UK Zwifters are welcome to join the British Cycling eRacing Championships Qualifier but in order to qualify for the British Cycling eRacing Championships final participants must abide by the following rules:

    • All participants must be a member of British Cycling and as such are bound by the terms and conditions and the regulations of British Cycling including, but without limitation, the Code of Conduct, Anti Doping Policy and any other relevant policy.

    • The top 10 men and top 10 women will be requested to show their valid British Cycling membership to qualify for the British Cycling eRacing Championships Final

    • In order to be eligible, the gender of a participant’s Zwift profile must match the gender indicated on their British Cycling membership.

    • All participants must register in advance of the race with Zwift Power and have it connected to their Zwift account via opting in.

    • All participants are subject to ZwiftPower's standard based on Critical Power. Any participant exceeding the applicable limits will be automatically disqualified. Please see www.ZwiftPower.com for more information on Critical Power limits of varying durations for male and female riders. Participants using zPower will not be eligible to ride.

    • All participants must have Strava data open (not private or hidden).

    • Participants are required to wear an approved functioning heart rate monitor which must provide reliable heart rate data for the duration of the race.

    • Power Ups will be allowed at any time.

What is the prize should I win the British Cycling eRacing Championships Final?

  • The winner will be crowned the National Champion and be presented with the Championship jersey. The jersey will be available in the platform and in the flesh.
