Netherland's Kirsten Wild won the RideLondon Classique to claim the richest ever prize in women's cycling for a one-day race.

The 33-year-old Hitec Products rider dominated on The Mall, showing her class to win a bunch sprint finish in a time of 1:28:12.

Wild - who will be among Team GB's Laura Trott's main rivals in the omnium at the Olympic Games in Rio - earned herself 25,000 euros from a total prize fund of 100,000 euros with the win, the biggest women's cycling purse in history.

Two British riders made it into the top 10, with national champion Hannah Barnes (Canyon SRAM Racing) in ninth, repeating her form at the national championships in Stockton-on-Tees by pipping her sister Alice (Drops Cycling Team) on the line.

That put the younger Barnes sister in tenth place, good enough for Alice to claim the under-23 Prudential RideLondon Classique title.

After crossing the line, winner Wild said: "It might have looked easy but it wasn't.

"It was a really good race, I looked forward to it for a few weeks. I saw the finish line and I thought 'that's my finish line'."

Annasley Park was the best-placed of the riders in Great Britain Cycling Team colours in 36th place, sharing race winner Wild's time.
