The Grand Prix of Wales will form the centrepiece of the Abergavenny Festival of Cycling this weekend.
JLT Condor are way out in front in the team event but the individual standings are still tantalisingly close as the series enters its penultimate race.
Ones to watch
Chris Lawless, the winner of the Abergavenny race in 2015, is also leading the 2016 Motorpoint Grand Prix standing after two events.
The sprinter has had some strong performances on the road since signing for JLT Condor last year and will be among the favourites if the race comes down to a sprint finish.
Ian Bibby, who won the Ryedale Grand Prix last week, sits just two points behind Lawless in second place at the halfway stage in the series.
The opening round of the series was won by Tom Moses, whose brave solo effort put him on top of an all-JLT Condor podium in Staffordshire. Having used the Kermesse hills to widen the gap between himself and the chasing pack, Moses might be able to employ a similar tactic to taste success in Wales.
The course
The riders start in Llanellen before completing three laps of the 20km Grosmont circuit, which contains the kilometre-long Grosmont climb and three intermediate sprints.
The race finishes in Abergavenny with 10 laps of the town centre, with sprint points being awarded for each circuit.
