The second part of a quick-fire double in the 2015 British Cycling Elite Circuit Series sees riders travel to the Stafford Grand Prix on Friday evening.

The first of eight events took place in Otley on Wednesday with Dan McLay striking first in Yorkshire.

Form guide

Twenty-three-year-old McLay may have won the Otley Grand Prix but the Bretagne Seche Environnement rider’s stint at the top of the standings is likely to be short-lived as he misses the trip to Staffordshire.

Standings for the 2015 British Cycling Elite Circuit Series after round one McLay edged Chris Latham (100%ME) to the line but the latter is also absent.  That leaves One Pro Cycling’s Jon Mould - third in Otley – with an excellent opportunity to climb up the overall standings.

David McGowan was sixth in Otley and forms part of a robust Pedal Heaven outfit that will be in search of another positive result.

2013 Elite Circuit Series winner George Atkins also graced the top-ten in Yorkshire for One Pro Cycling as did JLT Condor’s Felix English, NFTO’s Dale Appleby, and Team Raleigh-GAC’s Morgan Kneisky and Liam Stones.

Sir Bradley Wiggins will not start for Team Wiggins but they can still call upon the likes of under-23 British road champion Owain Doull, Mark Christian and Andy Tennant.

Madison Genesis missed out on a top-ten place in Yorkshire and will be keen to make amends. 100%ME’s Scott Davies and Germain Burton are also set to race.
