Great Britain’s Scott Davies and Grant Ferguson remained safe in the bunch on stage two of the Jayco Herald Sun Tour, retaining their top twenty position on general classification.
After a gruelling and definitive stage one, the duo that made the key move – along with 19 others – took the chance to recuperate as stage two saw a profile suited to the sprinters.
Guest rider Josh Edmondson took third at the intermediate sprint, before the peloton caught the break of the day and Australia’s Caleb Ewan took first in the kick to the line.
The final two days of the tour are expected to be more decisive, with the return of significant climbs.
