Sky Ride Plymouth set to kick off a season of amazing bike rides

Sky Ride is back for 2012 and our first big City event takes place in Plymouth on Sunday 13 May, is the first in a season of mass participation rides where people get the chance to experience riding their bikes in a unique atmosphere.

These big traffic-free bike rides are for people of all ages and abilities. It doesn’t matter what kind of bike you ride, or if you haven’t ridden for ages – everyone’s invited.

Our 8.5km route round Plymouth takes in some of the city's best loved attractions, including the Crescent, the Barbican, Stonehouse Creek Path and Royal William Yard.

Brian Johnston, British Cycling's Recreation Manager for the South West region, said: 'I'm really looking forward to Sky Ride Plymouth. Plymouth's a great part of the world with an active cycling community, and we're thrilled that it's going to be the first Sky Ride of 2012.'

The event has no official start point or start time, and you can ride as much or as little of the route as you like, and stop as many times as you want.
